Here’s a look at a couple of domain names registered (or name server changes) at Google last week.

+ Google333.com
The domain has been in the possession of Google Inc. since late 2006 and is now listed on several; Google name servers. No content appears when entering the URL into a web browser.

+ Googleooo.com
First registered in 2005 to an organization in China, the domain joined the Google list of registered domains in later 2006. It is now listed on several Google namer servers.

All of these domains are not new and at the time of posting, not active. However, they were just transferred to Microsoft name servers. Previously, all of these domains were registered to a company (perhaps a domain holding company?) in Los Angeles.

Thoughts? Guesses?: Perhaps MS is planning to market various MS Office Live services (perhaps custom services too) to specific user groups like doctors and accountants. If that is the case (or at least something close to it) we think it’s a smart move. Those who follow search and online tools often forget that much of it (and the services available) gets by the typical user regardless of occupation and knowledge.

Until recently, this domain was registered to Alive Ventures a company is Spain.

Google Domain Name Housekeeping with Endoxon

Nothing major here but since many people like to track domain names registered to Google a few updates.

Last December Google announced they acquired a portion of Endoxon, a software company based in Switzerland developing online mapping software. Over the past few day, several domains that appear to have been registered to Endoxon were transferred to Google Inc. Here’s the list:

Microsoft Registers Domain Names, New Local/Travel Info Service in the Works? XML Sharing Community Also Coming Soon?

On Friday (April 20th), Microsoft registered both DiscoverMetro.org and DiscoverMetro.net. A new local service for various cities? Pure speculation. Stay tuned. Btw, DiscoverMetro.com is currently registered to an organization in Roswell, GA.

Also, on April 20th, MS registered OpenXMLCommunity.com, .net, and .org.
All three domains currently contain no information. Perhaps a new XML code sharing online community?

+ Judge won’t dismiss Google trademark suit (via Reuters)

A judge on Wednesday refused to dismiss a lawsuit against Google charging that the Web search leader’s AdWords program abuses trademarks. In making his decision that effectively allows the case to move forward, U.S. District Court Judge Jeremy Vogel ruled that the public has an interest in whether Google AdWords violates U.S. trademark law.

The domain google2x.com was recently transferred to Google Inc. after (we think) the domain expired. The site was a metasearch compilation in Portugese and appears in the Open Directory. The domain was first registered in 2005.
