Although Google gets most of the headlines these days when it comes to the scanning of books, it’s worth mentioning that the Text Archive at the Internet Archive continues to expand. As of Monday (August 8th) afternoon, the collection has over 1.57 million full text books. According to a recent post by Greg Newby in Project Gutenberg News, the Text Archive grows by about 1000 titles per day.
