The Stock Artists Alliance, a partner of the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program Preserving Creative America initiative, has launched a website to promote industry-wide use of metadata in digital images.
The site, Photometadata.org, aims to promote the use of embedded metadata by photographers, stock distributors and end users. A related educational program, the getMETAsmart! tour, offers several free events around the country to teach photographers, stock distributors and anyone working with digital image files about embedding metadata in images.
