Happy 100th Birthday to the Main Branch of the Louisville (KY) Free Library

From the article:

The Main Library at Third and York streets is about to mark its 100th birthday and is showing its age in places.

Although Craig Buthod, Louisville Free Public Library director, said parts of the building badly need modernization, it is one of the most popular places in downtown Louisville, drawing more than three-quarters of a million visitors each year. Just 10 years ago, the annual attendance figure was 485,000.

“At 100 years old, the Main Library is experiencing explosive growth because the library has something people want — information, learning and a sense of community; a place where people come together,” Buthod said.
