The Library’s Asian Division of the Library of Congress, in cooperation with the Greater Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Chinese American Librarians Association, presented Hwa-Wei Lee, former chief of the Asian Division and dean emeritus of Ohio University Libraries, who discussed “Achieving Library Excellence: Employing Modern Management Practices.”

The presentation reviewed the four major management practices – management by objective (MBO), participative management (PM), total quality management (TQM) and knowledge management (KM) and discussed best practices in achieving library excellence.
