Utilizing DSpace to promote architecturial works
From the announcement:
We are moving to a very different world where the curator is not just a conservator…but maybe given the right to evolve [their role] into almost new forms because that’s the only form of survival that’s possible,” says, James Woods, the former Director of The Art Institute of Chicago. Developing DAArch (Digital Archive for Architecture) was a research project focused on the challenge of organizing and preserving digital design data and documentation files held by the Art Institute of Chicago…Additionally, the project’s deliverables included recommendations toward developing methods for long-term preservation of digital documentation, guidance for the creation and maintenance of digital design data within architectural practices, and a pilot collection of catalogued digital architecture materials – mainly used for testing the prototype’s capabilities. Visit The Art Institute of Chicago’s website for more information on the project.
