Next Week: Center for the Book To Host Program on Library Accessibility; New Web page
Center for the Book To Host Program on Library Accessibility on Oct. 17
Architect John P.S. Salmen and librarians Nancy Davenport and Rosemary Kelly will discuss how libraries are working to improve services for patrons who have disabilities at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Mumford Room on the sixth floor of the James Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave., S.E. Hosted by the Center for the Book, in cooperation with the Library of Congress Reference Roundtable, the program is part of the Library’s celebration of Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event is free and open to the public; tickets are not required.
If you can’t make it to DC, we would bet that a webcast will be available after the event.
Also, a new web page.
The Library has also launched an online resource page at www.loc.gov/topics/disabilityawareness/ to recognize the contributions of disabled Americans to society and the nation’s workforce.
