Help the U.S Copyright Office Beta Test Some New Technology
The Copyright Office is conducting a beta test of its automated registration system, electronic Copyright Office (eCO). Requests to participate in eCO beta testing are being accepted from the public at this time. Participants will be selected in the order that requests are received. In addition, selection will be based on an array of submission criteria. Basic registration claims will be accepted at a reduced fee established for electronic filings. Requests to participate are being accepted through the Copyright Office website.
Participants in eCO beta testing will file basic registration claims online at a reduced fee established for electronic filings ($35). Requests to participate in eCO beta testing are being accepted from the public and a broad array of applicants will be selected in the order that requests are received and based on the criteria listed below.
+ Type of work, e.g., literary work, musical composition, sound recording, etc.
+ Type of deposit copy, i.e., hard copy versus electronic copy
+ File format, e.g., mp3, jpeg, pdf, etc. (electronic deposit copies)
+ File size (electronic deposit copies)
+ Frequency of registration
+ Published versus unpublished works
+ Individual versus company/organization
+ Type of payment
