It’s Zoho Time Again: The Zoho Viewer is Now Live

We were starting to get nervous around here. For a while a week didn’t pass that Zoho, providers of high-quality web-based tools (oh, btw, most are free!) had not released anything new. Well, they deserved a few weeks off. Yesterday, we had the launch of Zoho Viewer that’s explained in this post.

Fast Facts:

+ Makes Sharing Documents in Many Formats Easy Online, You Can Even Upload and Share Several Documents at One Time.

+ It’s very very easy to use. Almost no learning curve.

+ Here’s a Complete List of File Formats the Zoho Viewer Can Handle

+ You DO NOT have to be a registered Zoho user (remember, most services are free) to utilize Zoho Viewer

+ The URL you get in your address bar will be the permalink to that document and can now share this document with other users, even embed that URL into a document.

+ The documents you upload are not viewable by others unless you share the URL and not indexed unless you link to it. Of course, be careful.

+ The Max Document Size You can Upload is 10MB

+ Zoho also makes clear that this service allows you to share documents without having to attach a file to an email.

+ One comment. We would like to know how long a document stays on a Zoho server and if there is any method to get it removed after a certain amount of time. For example, let the end user choose how long the URL is live for (a Few Hours? Days? Weeks? Months?)

Examples:
Here are a couple of files that we listed on DocuTicker in the past few days that now are available via Zoho Viewer. Notice how easy it is to download, print, and get the code to embed. Another useful feature, short URL’s.
