News from AOL this morning that they’ve updated their video portal with several new features. The portal is accessible at: http://video.aol.com/. Of course, Yahoo Video and most recently Google Video have started to also make available content culled from other web hosting services as well as the open web.

Before we share a brief overview, don’t forget that AOL Video also offers the crisp and clean (no ads too!) SearchVideo.com.

OK, what’s new on AOL Video?

+ Like SearchforVideo (NOT SearchVideo), Blinkx, VideonRonk, PureVideo, and others, AOL Video Search is now crawling multiple video content databases. In other words, AOL Video Search is now a federated video search resource.

+ New embedded video player. No need to click to another site to open the video.

+ Don’t forget, AOL offers a video upload/sharing service named UnCut video.

+ Also new today is a Vista Sidebar (preview version) for AOL Video Search.

When we last checked, the Google Video home page also points out this fact. Ask.com’s video search is powered by Blinkx, its database contains content from many services. MS Live Video Search Videos contains material from several services like the AP, YouTube, and Revver.
