Unlike Google Zeitgeist and similar services from other major search engines, “Search Trends” will be updated several times a day. Of course, Yahoo Research has offered both a “Tech Buzz” game

and a daily “Buzz Log” of frequently searched for topics in several categories. t’s likely that much of the “Buzz Log” is based on concept discovery research Yahoo was doing in 2004 ||| (more here) and had a patent application published in 2005 (not awarded as of today) titled:
Systems and methods for search query processing using trend analysis.
