Gotta love RSS. Why hop around all over the Web to get the information you need when you can subscribe to feeds and have the information come to you? Without clogging your e-mail inbox. In this round-up — which is totally subjective — we’re including a number of international sources. If you have favorite RSS fishing holes of your own, please share them with us.

+ Australian Government: RSS Feeds and Podcasts: Index of feeds from Australian government agencies, including the ABC, which offers “over 100 RSS feeds delivering news by subject and region; sports information; tv feeds; and newsradio news, subject and program feeds.”
+ The Age RSS channels and the Sydney Morning Herald RSS channels: Arranged by newspaper section, alphabetically.

+ Government of Canada Newsroom: Choose Your News: “The Government of Canada Newsroom offers you numerous RSS news feeds. Each news item includes the headline or title, a summary of the news article and a link to the full text document found on the Newsroom Web site.” Besides the general regional and national feeds, you can browse for feeds by province, audience (very cool alphabetical list, from Aboriginal peoples to Youth), or department/agency.
+ CBC/Radio-Canada: Nice directory of feeds by category. (Hockey fans may be interested in the Stanley Cup 2007 feed, which is featured at the top, in the Current Events section).
+ globeandmail.com RSS News Feeds: “Globeandmail.com now offers more than a hundred RSS feeds for news, columnists, and reader comments. As well, our blogs each have their own feeds.”

+ www.govt.nz RSS feeds: National and local government newsfeeds.
+ New Zealand Herald RSS Feeds: Excellent selection of feeds by section, category, topic, columns, etc.
+ Radio New Zealand RSS & Podcasts: News headlines or various programs.

+ INTUTE: RSS News Channels: INTUTE is a free online service “created by a network of UK universities and partners” to provide “access to the very best Web resources for education and research.” Subscribe to feeds in specific subject areas of interest; the content may also be used on websites. The Social Sciences blog newsfeed regularly includes information on new UK government publications.
+ News Feeds from the BBC: The page does a good job of explaining RSS and feed aggregators/readers. Includes video RSS feeds, and there is also a link to BBC podcasts.

+ EUROPA Rapid Syndication: European Commission press release RSS feeds. Get them all or choose from various “political domains” (e.g., Transport, Information Society and Media, etc.), speeches by commissioners, or documents from individual European Institutions (e.g., European Investment Bank, Eurostat, etc.).
+ RSS Feeds from the UN News Service: “The UN News Centre provides a feed for top headlines, as well as feeds for news organized by subject and region.”
+ World Bank: B-SPAN RSS Feeds” B-SPAN is the World Bank’s webcasting service. Available feeds are arranged by topic, alphabetically. Podcasts are also available.
