A Selection of Topic or Site Specific Web Archives Using The Internet Achive’s Archive-It Service

In January 2007 as well as in November and September 2006, we listed several archives of web content that are being built using the Internet Archive Archive-It service. Today, a list of some more archives.

+ Katrina (Internet Archive)

The Internet Archive and many individual contributors worked together to put together a comprehensive list of websites to create a historical record of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and the massive relief effort which followed. This collection has over 25 million unique pages, all text searchable, from over 1500 sites. The web archive commenced on September 4th.

+ Quaker and Peace Web Archives (Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore College)

Contains Swarthmore College and Haverford College websites as well as organizational websites of Society of Friends (Quaker) groups and peace groups.

+ Frank Lloyd Wrights Honeycombe House (Internet Archive)

Research on Frank Lloyd Wright House built in the 1930’s on the Stanford Campus

+ Alabama Web Sites (Alabama State Archives)

This collections consists of URLs for Alabama state agency web sites, two-year college web sites, and publically-supported university web sites. The goal of the ADAH in collecting these pages is to gather an historical record of government funded agencies, their activities, and the services they provide to Alabamians.

+ Michigan Government Web Snapshot 2006

This collection is a snapshot of web pages created by Michigan government agencies from the executive, legislative and judicial branches that was taken in December 2006. Material available in this collection may be copyrighted or have other restrictions on its use. Please contact the authoring government agency if you have questions about the uses of this material. This collection contains the material that was available online at the moment it was captured. As a result, this content may not accurately reflect current information (such as policies, rules, forms, laws, etc.). Please contact the appropriate Michigan government agency for current information.
