University officials lauded for health literacy study
From the article:
A Central Michigan University professor and library official are being honored for their study that found that some rely on the Internet for medical information in a way that’s bad for their health.
Lana Ivanitskaya, associate professor of health sciences in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, and Anne Casey, associate dean of libraries, began their study six years ago on the effective use of electronic documents, including those available through the Internet.
Beginning this month, they are profiled as “Information Literacy Stars” on the website for the National Forum on Information Literacy. The forum’s website is www.infolit.org, and the link to their profiles is at www.infolit.org/star_8.html.
