Conference Updates: CFP: Context-Based Information Retrieval 2007
Context-Based Information Retrieval 2007
This workshop (part of the Context 2007 conference) is scheduled for August 20-21, 2007. Roskilde, Denmark.
With the explosion of the volume of available information on the Web, the information retrieval systems (IRSs) have become necessary to help the users to find relevant documents. Traditional IRSs may be drastically different if they take into account the context of the information, the context of the interactions and the context of the query. Contextual information includes, for example, both explicit and implicit feedback from the user, environment the user is attached to and the system itself. Such factors constrain the search without intervening in it explicitly. One idea to improve the efficiency of IRSs is to make the contextual information explicit in order to enhance the retrieval performance.
