+ New service creates custom news sites (via AP)
Note: Three quick comments from RS.
1) Don’t forget what Topix.net is up to. Hundreds of thousands of pre-built and constantly updated topic pages (including one for every Zip Code/Postal Code Canada, a massive selection of mainstream news services and blogs, unique search features (yes, CASE SeNSITive searching) and useful (cool, too!) interactive graphs. RSS for every topic and keyword search. Forums for those who want to share their views.
2) We also still find NewsNow a powerful tool for browsing news by topic. Almost 30,000 sources.
3) Once again, no mention in the article of any of the news databases (new and archived content) that libraries offer FREE (for personal use), 24×7x365, from any computer with a web connection. All you need is a library card. Every library offers a different collection of database. No limits on how much you can view for free. Here’s one example: San Francisco Public Library.
