Navteq Closes Traffic.com Deal, What Does Traffic.com Offer the Consumer?

Navteq Corp. said Wednesday it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Traffic.com Inc. for roughly $177 million. Navteq of Chicago provides digital-mapping information for automobile navigation systems and other applications. Traffic.com collects, processes and supplies real-time digital traffic information. It’s based in Wayne, Pa. Navteq plans to keep Traffic.com in Wayne.

Navteq provides data to many of the online mapping services.
