MapleCroft Maps Come to NASA World Wind; Virtual Earth Imagery Also Available With World Wind

Since the beginning of 2007 we’ve posted about some useful and interesting interactive online maps produced by a company named MapleCroft. On 1/25/07 we posted about an updated interactive map of Global Natural Disaster Economic Losses. On 2/16/07 we mentioned updated maps about global displacement and global hunger.

Today, we can report that many of these and other maps can now “added on” and used with NASA’s Open Source 3D Digital Globe, World Wind.

World Wind is free to download and use.
