“Within FDA, the Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is responsible for the review and approval of drugs for animals, including companion animals such as dogs. In order to receive FDA/CVM approval, manufacturers must be able to demonstrate that the drugs are safe and effective when used according to label directions.
