Meebo: New Features Added to Web-Based IM Service

As instant messaging continues to grow in popularity, Meebo is a totally web-based (and free) tool that provides users access to all of the major IM services (AOL, Yahoo, MSN, and GTalk) in one place. It’s a resource many librarians love. It’s also a way for people who don’t want to or are unable to (let’s say in a corporate setting) install a software client, access 4 IM services. In other words, Meebo makes IM easy. Need an account for one or more of the IM services? Meebo offers direct links to each services registration page, nice. If you go ahead (not mandatory) and register for a Meebo account, more features become available including chat logs.

A post on the Meebo blog offers up info about new features released today, here are a few highlights:

+ display pictures

+ pink, green, and purple skins!

+ faster login

+ saved away messages
