Country of origin information service (COI service)

The Country of Origin Information Service (COI Service) exists to provide accurate, objective, sourced and up-to-date information on asylum seekers’ countries of origin, for use by IND officials involved in the asylum determination process.

All COI Service products summarise a wide range of recognised external COI source material. They concentrate on issues raised in asylum and human rights claims made in the UK. COI Service products do not contain Home Office opinion or policy.
