AOL Search with Fullview (AOL Search 7.0) Leaves Beta

AOL Search with Fullview (AOL Search 7.0 Leaves Beta)
Btw, the word FullView has been trademarked by AOL. The beta ended on Tuesday.

From the site:

AOL Search does more than just help you find what you need. It lets you discover all sorts of information–including videos, pictures, sound clips, news stories and more–all related to your search. And they’re all seamlessly integrated in the FullView panel, right on the first page:

* Editorial content
* Pictures or images
* Video
* Audio
* News
* Shopping
* Local information

Sponsored links result above organic links vs. in the right rail. Gone, the search refinement/clusters in the left rail as seen in this screen cap of the previous versions of AOL Search.

Similar to Ask.com (something they’ve been doing for years) is that the right rail is now used for content. At Ask, it’s their Zoom Related Search Feature that helps the search narrow and/or expand their search along with (in some cases) offering lists of related names.

At AOL, the right rail now contains various info like weather, travel info, yellow pages from various AOL properties. Features appear to be based on the type of search.

Here’s another example with different options in the right rail. This time, video clips and news.
