UK: New digital archive will preserve historic records from Their Past Your Future project

The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) will create a digital archive for more than 500 gigabytes of historic material created last year through projects under the UK-wide, “Their Past Your Future” programme…The announcement of the creation of the digital archive of the event comes during the annual Archive Awareness Campaign, launched at the Museum of Garden History yesterday. The Archive Awareness Campaign encourages everyone to learn a little bit more about their own history and boasts a record number of events at archives throughout the UK this year….It is anticipated the project would be launched by the end of 2006.
