[...] Karen Schneider Says So Long to the Librarians’ Internet Index A personal note from Gary: Those of you who have read ResourceShelf for more than a few weeks now how much we believe that the Librarians’ Internet Index is a wonderful (understatement) example (one of several) of what librarians are capable of in the web age in organizing and making the open web more useful. This week, it’s director, my good friend, and a ResourceShelf supporter from the very beginning (thanks K.S.) Karen Schneider is moving on. Karen, we appreciate ALL that you have done. Your hard work, dedication, and all the rest will be missed at the LII and by its thousands of users. Best of luck in whatever your next endeavour will be. Karen’s accomplishments could take up a full page on our blog. Perhaps most noteworthy is one of her latest. Bringing the power and ease of use of Siderean’s faceted search/browsing tech to the LII. Like her predecessor and LII’s founder, Carole Leita, Karen may be gone but her legacy will continue for a VERY long time. [...]
