Statehealthfacts.org Updates Data on Medicaid Spending, Adult Overweight/Obesity Rates, and Child Health

Statehealthfacts.org has updated data on Medicaid spending and enrollment for 2005. Data include total Medicaid spending and spending on acute care, long term care, and disproportionate hospital (DSH) payments for federal fiscal year 2005 for all states and the nation
from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Also included is average annual growth in Medicaid spending for selected
years. Other updates include 2005 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on adult overweight and obesity rates by
sex and race/ethnicity. New 2003 child health data from the Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health on the percentage of
children who are overweight and children who have accessed mental health services have also been added and are available by state and
region.
