Risks Associated with the Use of Recordable CDs and DVDs as Reliable Storage Media in Archival Collections : Strategies and Alternatives
This document builds a section of the 2004 publication Guidelines on the Production and Preservation of Digital Audio Objects. The document details the measures necessary to ensure reliability when using CDs and DVDs as preservation media for data generally. It includes information on recording reliable data on optical discs, reproduction of optical disc media, optical disc standards and optical disc testers.
