Word from TVGuide today that they have made a deal with Yahoo to power the TV listing info on the Yahoo Go service and elsewhere.

The agreement provides Yahoo! with a license, under Gemstar-TV Guide’s patent portfolio, for interactive program guides delivered by Yahoo!, via the Internet or on PCs, including through the Yahoo! Go TV service…Other components of the agreement include various branding and promotional opportunities for TV Guide across the Yahoo! network. The agreement between Gemstar-TV Guide and Yahoo! also includes a patent cross-license between both parties.

Presently, listings come from Tribune Media Services, Inc. Yahoo also has a deal with TiVo that allows some TiVo users to program their box via Yahoo. Earlier this week, TV Guide and TiVo also announced a similar type of service.

Btw, in case you missed it, a redesigned TVGuide.com site is now online. We learned in February that search is powered by Fast Search and Transfer.
