Free Full Text Access to Encarta Remains After MSN Move to Live.com Search
Although MSN moved their search services to the Live.com platform this week, we’ve learned that free full text access (minus a few services) to the MSN Encarta continues to be available. Since the Encarta button is no longer available, simply run any search on Live.com and select any Encarta result. For example: Encarta Bay Area or for those who want only Encarta results try something like this. You can also find access via an MSN Encarta Direct Answer on a web results page. Look for “check or tick” symbol (formerly >> symbol).
Once on results page, simply select a result from Encarta. The Encarta entry will have a two hour countdown clock on it. Once that two hour time period ends, simply select another link and get more time. No limits. You can also delete the cookie on your system and start over. Here’s the documentation from the Encarta team.
