9/11 Rememberances & Web Resources from Arlington County, VA Public Library & Elsewhere

As evening falls on 9/11 + FIVE, Ask.com has posted a special home page logo.

As many of you know, Arlington County, Virginia, is home to the Arlington National Cemetery, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the Iwo Jima U.S. Marine Memorial and many other landmarks.

One of these landmarks is the Pentagon. To honor those lost at the Pentagon on September 11th, the Arlington County Public Library is offering many online resources including:

+ Art Exhibit

+ Oral History Project (includes MP3 files)
Stories from dispatchers, firefighters, police, educators, citizens, county officials.

Department of State headquarters offices in Washington were evacuated. Despite the evacuation, essential operations continued, and at 7:40 that evening, the Deputy Spokesman held a special Press Briefing at the Department’s Washington Foreign Press Center.
