It’s most likely that speech recognition technology will be used for these endevours. This podcast is a 15 minute interview (MP3) with Mike Cohen, head of the company’s efforts in this area. Cohen came to Google from Nuance, another speech recognition player. Also, at one time Google Labs offered a voice recognition search tool but it has been offline for several years although the site is still live.
