Major Online Map Info Provider Requests Your Assistance

One of the two largest digital map info companies, Tele Atlas (Navteq being the other), is asking for help from the public to make their database more accurate. MapQuest is one of many companies that use Tele Atlas data.

The new program is called Map Insight.

Tele Atlas, a leading global geographic content provider, today announced it will expand its map update system with Map Insightâ„¢, an online tool that allows users of Internet, personal navigation, and wireless devices and applications powered by Tele Atlas data to quickly report changes to the company. Released in limited availability today, Map Insight will be made generally available during the fourth quarter of 2006.
