A post on the Yahoo Search Blog points out that in some situations inline image results from the Flickr database are now appearing on Yahoo Search results pages. Here’s an example and another. Remember, inline images (based on query terms) from Yahoo Image Search have been a part of Yahoo Web Search results since February, 2005. As this post points out searching for images using specific terms (very cool!) on Yahoo Web Search can be done. What triggers a Flickr result vs. an Yahoo Image result was not disclosed.

More Examples:

However, with the terms inverted (photos funny) Yahoo Image results are returned. The same is true for using the word “images” instead of photos (funny images).

+ Search for smiling photos returns inline results from Yahoo Images.

+ Sad photos and Cheering photos also returns Yahoo Image results.
