Glossary: Basic Library and Library Science Terms

This glossary provides definitions of terms that are frequently used in libraries but rarely in everyday life. For example, it may help users to find books in our libraries if they know that the word “stacks” means what we call at home “book shelves.” The terms that are defined in this glossary appear in the text in bold.
