Beginning this evening, Treasure Hunters, a reality TV show that will air on NBC this summer debuts. Why mention it here? There are plenty of reality TV blogs. However, in this case, central to the show will be contestants using Ask.com to find answers to questions that will keep them in the game. More on the Ask.com blog. We’ve seen online games from other engines (Google and Fiat Partner to Offer Google Earth Game 2/2006; via SEW Blog) and with the release of The Da Vinci Code movie (also Google). However, this might be the first time an engine has been actually used on a weekly TV show. We’ve also read about Yahoo offering its own reality show and resurrecting a series that never made it to terrestrial TV. AOL has also noted that they will produce their own reality show.
