Building Better Mobile Web Browsers

A story in Technology Review takes a look at browsers used to access web pages on the mobile web. In this case, actual web pages and not information via SMS (text messaging) or IM. The article focuses on two companies, Nokia and Opera (yes, the same company that brings us the wonderful Opera browser for the “regular web”). Of course, other browsers exist. For example, “Blazer” comes with the Treo and the browser that’s available with the BlackBerry. Btw, another Opera product, Opera Mini will work on many devices. It’s free. However, your phone/smartphone will need to be able to handle Java. Worth a look and quite possibly a download.
