New “Flexible Dates” Search Feature on Orbitz
Since “finding the lowest” air fare and other travel information is one of the things people search (and ask about) in droves, I’ve decided that when some of the larger travel sites offer new search tools to include them in the ResourceShelf mix. The one thing I do know is that there is no single place to go to and find the lowest fare. Like so many things “search related” knowledge of the available options is crucial. O.K., with that out of the way, Orbitz has added a new tool, “FlexSearch”, allowing you to see a matrix of fare choices without having to specify precise dates. For now, this new tool is only available for flights departing and arriving from U.S. and Canadian airports. To access, simply click on the blue bar labeled “my dates are flexible”. It’s located on the Orbitz homepage. You can read a bit more about the tool in today’s Washington Post. Orbitz is powered by search technology from ITA Software.
