USPTO Reports to Congress on the Removal of Paper Copies From Public Search Facilities
In January we had a story about the USPTO announcing a plan to remove and destroy paper copies of patents from public patent search facilities. Today, the USPTO has placed a recently delivered report to Congress about the plan. According to the report the USPTO plans to cease support for the collections today (7/26/02) and begin “transfer and disposal” on August 26th.
