Prototype Demo: NewsInEssence
In early February we highlighted an article about NewsBlaster, an news summarization tool, using “open web” content. The software is being developed at Columbia University. Today, word of a similar project from the Computational Linguistics and Information Retrieval Department at the Unversity of Michigan. The service is described as a NewsInEssence “prototype system for finding and summarizing multiple news articles on the web.” You can learn more about the components of the prototype by visiting this page.
