“The Murky Debate Over an Internet Address Database”
From the article, “…, how much information should be made available to the public about the individuals and businesses that have registered more than 35 million Web addresses (or domain names, as they are known in the trade)? What restrictions, if any, should be placed on who has access to this data?” Thanks To G.T. for the news tip.

First Edition of Geoffrey Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales” Set For Digitization
From the article, “The first edition of Geoffrey Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales”, worth 4.6 million pounds, has been hauled from the British Library vaults to be digitised and put online. Technicians sporting satellite-strength cameras began photographing the rare 15th century tome in a windowless room in London on Monday. Their 1,300 high-resolution images will then be put on the Internet. The British Library has already digitised two copies of the Gutenberg bible, printed in 1455 and available on the Internet at http://prodigi.bl.uk/gutenbg/default.asp.
