The National Map: Final Report
From the site, “Earlier this year, the U.S. Geological Survey�s (USGS) Associate Director for Geography chartered a study to determine how to �… put truly current information into the hands of our customers … in a cost effective way�. Our vision is that by the year 2010, working with partners, we will provide the Nation with current, accurate, and nationally consistent basic spatial data, including digital data and derived topographic maps. The report from the study, The National Map, sketches an approach for achieving this vision.”
